In his return to the Orlando City of the United States, Yoshimar Yotun shared his experience with the Peruvian National Team in the 2018 World Cup. The midfielder assured that the return of the national team to this tournament, after 36 years, is the best thing that has happened to him in his career.
"I always say that it is the best thing that has happened to me so far in football. To go to Russia with your national team, being able to sing the anthem after 36 years... that will remain in history," said Yotun in statements to his club.

He added: "It was something extremely important for me, for the country, and also for Orlando City to have a player in the World Cup."
Yoshimar Yotun recalled the positive impact that the Peruvian National Team had: "A country that used to talk a lot about defeat has come together. As a result of all this, Peru has changed, people are fans of the national team, they feel proud to wear the jersey to this day."
