Despite not being able to shine in the 2018 World Cup because he was left out of the final roster, Sergio Peña could change teams this season. The midfielder could move from Spanish football to Portuguese football.
According to the Spanish newspaper El Ideal, the Peruvian midfielder could leave Granada, from the Second Division of Spain, to join Tondela, from the Portuguese League. "Sergio Peña is in negotiations to go on loan to Portuguese Tondela, a team coached by David Belenguer, also managed by the Hope group," said El Ideal.
Peña would not be considered by Granada due to the foreigner quota, and since CD Tondela is owned by the same group that manages the Spanish team, everything would be easier.
Sergio Peña, 22 years old, played 19 matches with Granada, 14 of them as a starter, and scored only one goal.
