The Peruvian National Team returned to Lima after finishing their participation in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where they finished third in Group C. After more than two hours of waiting, hundreds of fans filled the facilities of the Jorge Chavez airport in Callao, and greeted the team with cheers and chants. The most celebrated player was Paolo Guerrero, who received applause and all the love from the fans.
The official Twitter account of the Peruvian National Team announced that the team will arrive around 8 PM. The plane that brought them departed from Moscow at approximately 1 AM and made a stop in Portugal before flying directly to Lima.
It is worth mentioning that not only the airport was the gathering place for fans, but also the traffic was restricted during the night on Faucett, La Marina, and Javier Prado avenues, where the team's bus passed and was followed by hundreds of people.
