Ricardo Gareca received the best gift after the victory against Australia in the 2018 World Cup Russia. The coach of the Peruvian National Team received the hug of his grandson Benjamin before leaving the field of the Olympic Stadium in Sochi.
The image was shared by Diego Rebagliati on his social networks with the following message: "May this image of Prof. Gareca hugging and kissing his grandson wearing the Peruvian jersey symbolize the hug and kiss that we all Peruvians want to give him."

Ricardo Gareca must decide in the coming days whether he remains as the coach of the national team. His contract ended with the final whistle of the match against Australia.
"Continuity is something to analyze now that everything is over. We must make assessments that will involve many issues. It is a reasonable time to think and cool down because the national team is a greater responsibility," he said in a press conference. "It's been 4 years and we have to think about taking on the commitment. It never crossed our minds to leave the team when we really took on the job. These are not decisions made overnight," he added.
