With all the fans asking for his continuity at the helm of the Peruvian National Team, coach Ricardo Gareca stated on Tuesday that he will take "a reasonable time" to give an answer about his future now that the national team has completed its campaign in the first World Cup they played in 36 years.
"Continuity, now that everything is over, we have to try to analyze things. There comes a time when one makes personal assessments, and [the decision] will have to do with a lot of issues. [Take] a reasonable time to think, to cool down," said the coach after his team's victory over Australia (2-0).

"The national team is a major responsibility, which implies a country (...) We have gone through very complicated situations in these three and a half years, very difficult situations, and we never thought about leaving the position of the national team," he said about the involvement required by the position.
