Juventus announced this Friday the signing of Italian international goalkeeper Mattia Perin, from Genoa, who signed a four-year contract.
Perin, 25, will compete with the Polish Wojciech Szczesny to succeed Gianluigi Buffon, who left the club at the end of the recently finished season, in which Juventus were crowned champions of Italy for the seventh year in a row.
In their statement, Juventus specifies that Perin's transfer amounts to 12 million euros, payable in three installments. The operation is accompanied by bonuses that can reach a maximum of 3 million euros.
Perin has played two matches with the Azzurra national team and was among the three goalkeepers called up by the new coach of the Italian National Team, Roberto Mancini, for the friendly matches played at the end of May and the beginning of June against Saudi Arabia, France and the Netherlands.
He has been an international player with Italy in all youth categories, but his career has been cut short by several serious injuries, including two torn cruciate ligaments, one in each knee.
