About Cienciano

Talking about Cienciano is remembering Freddy Ternero. He brought us so much joy as a coach, including winning the Copa Sudamericana 2003 and the Recopa championship in 2004. Sergio Ibarra was part of that achievement and he deeply regrets his passing.

"We shouldn't just remember Freddy Ternero for 'Yes we can'. He is the most successful coach in Peruvian football. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us. He was a great person who taught me many things and achieved important things. I feel fortunate to have known him," said Sergio Ibarra.

Sergio Ibarra wanted to give Cienciano a victory against Universitario, but it didn't happen. However, he still made a promise to Freddy Ternero and hopes to fulfill it with the team.

"We wanted to give him a win, but it didn't happen. The important thing is that we will keep fighting. I know Freddy Ternero is watching us. We will try to get as close as possible to the top and see if we can enter a tournament. We want to bring him that joy," said Sergio Ibarra.
