The Court of Sports Arbitration (TAS) ruled in favor of the Licensing Commission of the Peruvian Football Federation and ruled against Universitario de Deportes, meaning that the 'crema' entity will continue without being able to add reinforcements until the end of the season.
RPP Noticias was able to learn that the TAS resolution was detrimental to the 'merengue' entity, making it impossible to hire players for the remaining Apertura and Clausura Tournaments.
Remember that in November of last year, the Licensing Commission of the FPF sanctioned the 'crema' team for not complying with the Federation's Licensing System. At that time, it was decided not to deduct any points in the Clausura 2017, but it was punished by prohibiting them from making incorporations in the following season.
Beyond the TAS decision, RPP Noticias learned that the FPF will be looking for some mechanism to help Universitario de Deportes to be able to hire players.
For the second date of the Apertura Tournament, the ‘U’ tied with UTC and added their second consecutive draw, placing them in the tenth position of the championship.
