I remember the campaign for the Copa Sudamericana 2003 and various moments when the trio "Do Re Mi" would invade the field at the Garcilaso stadium with their grace towards the end of Cienciano's training. And Freddy Ternero would welcome them with that smile, like in the photo accompanying this testimony.
Escucho la melodía y automáticamente retrocedo doce años. Me acuerdo de la campaña de la Copa Sudamericana 2003 y de varios momentos en los que el trío "Do Re Mi" invadía con su gracia la cancha del estadio Garcilaso sobre el final del entrenamiento del Cienciano. Y Freddy Ternero los recibía con esa sonrisa, como en la foto que acompaña este testimonio.
Esa tonadita del "Upa que upa upa upa upapá, el Cienciano del Cusco es el papá..." era felizmente pegajosa, hasta cierto punto conmovedora. No había calle cusqueña, picantería o taxi en el que no sonara, y a Freddy también le gustaba. La canción se convirtió en el himno cusqueño por imposición futbolística.
