Flamengo considers filing a lawsuit against the Peruvian Football Federation
Flamengo, which has already suspended the contract of Paolo Guerrero following his doping suspension, is considering the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) for the "damage" caused by the sanction to the striker.
"Our legal department is certainly studying this possibility," said Eduardo Bandeira, the president of the Brazilian club, in an interview published by O Globo newspaper.

Paolo Guerrero, 34, had a contract with Flamengo until next August, but he will not be able to play again until January 2019, as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) extended his suspension to fourteen months following a doping case detected after a match he played with the Peruvian national team.
"There was serious damage to Flamengo. Who guarantees that the team would not have been champion of the Copa Sudamericana with Guerrero," said Bandeira to O Globo.
According to the president of Flamengo, Paolo Guerrero is "an excellent athlete, an example," but his situation "harmed" the club, which can now resort to legal means to be "compensated" for it.
"We delivered a Guerrero in perfect condition to the Peruvian Federation and they returned us a player in that situation," said Bandeira.
