Suddenly, the trail of Manuel Heredia, the goalkeeper who won the affection of Alianza Lima fans after winning the 2014 Summer Tournament, was lost.
The last official appearance of Manuel Heredia under the goalposts was in 2016, when he defended the colors of La Bocana, with whom he lost the league.
From then on, it was only known that Manuel Heredia lived in the United States in search of a job opportunity in his field. And it appeared at the least expected moment.
Manuel Heredia will join Ozark FC, a sports entity that plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fifth category of North American soccer.
"All this time I have been preparing myself in the best way and this Sunday I will make my dream of playing in this country come true. My team Ozark FC will face Tulsa Athletic for the NPSL of the Southern United States Federation," he said in an interview with Radio Ovación.
"I'm really excited to play again and I will do everything possible for things to turn out very well for me. I couldn't be there on the first matchday due to a transfer issue, but now everything is ready for my debut," he concluded.
