The Peruvian Football Federation issued an official statement regarding the characterization that comedian Miguel Moreno Armas made of forward Jefferson Farfán in Monday's edition of the sports program Fox Sports Peru.
In a statement divided into four points, the FPF strongly rejected any type of racist or discriminatory expression or manifestation, and criticized its perpetuation as a form of entertainment.
Additionally, the entity pointed out that together with FIFA and CONMEBOL, the central pillar of world football is the fight against discrimination.
Finally, the FPF called on all Peruvians to "eradicate" similar behaviors in society and football.
Fox Sports Radio Peru has been broadcasting since April 23rd. Its panel is made up of journalists and former football players. Former Miss Peru Romina Lozano is also part of the panel.
In recent days, the inclusion of Leao Butrón and comedian Miguel Moreno Armas, the protagonist of the imitation that sparked strong criticism on social media and statements from the Ministry of Culture and the Ombudsman's Office, was announced.
