Julio Avelino Comesaña, coach of Junior de Barranquilla, was upset about his team's lack of defensive concentration in the final minutes, which allowed Atlético Nacional to rescue a draw (1-1) in a match that was controlled by the shark team and had taken the lead with Teofilo Gutierrez's goal in the 69th minute.
"The result does not leave me happy because matches are not over until the final whistle sounds. We had it under control. We conceded a goal that needs to be analyzed. We lacked wisdom to handle the final minutes, we played with nobility," said Comesaña.
The Uruguayan strategist, who lined up a mixed squad thinking about the duel this Thursday against Alianza Lima for Libertadores, praised the return of forward Teofilo Gutierrez, who was influential in the match against the Verdolagas.
"Teofilo was expected to play 45 minutes, but who would take him out in a game like this against Nacional? He played the full 90 minutes and grew little by little. There are things in football that cannot be predicted," commented the Uruguayan coach.
Now, Junior focuses on facing their second match in less than 24 hours when they clash against Alianza Lima in Barranquilla, seeking a victory that would allow them to reach six points and enter the qualification zone, after Boca's defeat, which stayed with five units.
