Atlético Nacional's captain and leader, Alexis Henríquez, criticized the league organizers after finding out that they will have to play two games in 24 hours. On Tuesday, the 24th, they will face Bolívar at home for the Copa Libertadores, and on the 25th, they will visit Junior in Barranquilla.
"It's time for us to eradicate this from our soccer because we have been dealing with the same thing for over 20 years and no one takes responsibility for anything. They criticize us, the players, the coaches, the referees, the journalists when they make a bad comment, but those who organize our soccer don't come out and say anything about what's happening. I think it's very poorly organized. The teams that qualify for international tournaments, which historically are the big ones, are the ones being harmed."
Atlético Nacional is the leader of the league with 31 points. They have already secured their spot in the quarterfinals in Colombia, and in the Copa Libertadores, they also lead Group A with 6 points.
"In the players' association, we keep talking, but our executives keep doing the same thing, and we don't see any improvement in the league. I think this only happens in Colombia. Playing two games in less than 24 hours is not allowed anywhere else in the world, but here it's normal."
