Alliance Lima loses to Junior in the Copa Libertadores
Alliance Lima was clearly inferior to Junior and lost again in the Copa Libertadores. The team led by Pablo Bengoechea showed no reaction capability and lost 2-0 to the Colombian team, which revived its chances of qualifying for the next round of the international tournament.
"It was deserved, because Junior had the ball and dominated the game, while the opponent decided to watch them play. Alliance had the ball, but the truth is they did not take advantage of it. Viera didn't even have to get his uniform dirty, in a forgettable second half", reported El Tiempo.
The defeat complicated Alliance Lima's aspirations in the Copa Libertadores and revived the hopes of the Colombians, who were not doing well in the national league. Thus, Junior climbed out of the bottom of the table in the international tournament.
"The Lima team couldn't find their game and quickly fell into the visitors' control, without being able to produce any attack", added El Espectador.
Palmeiras leads Group 8 with 7 points, followed by Boca Juniors with 5, Junior with 3 points, and Alliance Lima with only 1 point (they only tied 0-0 against the Argentine team at the Estadio Nacional).
