Pablo Hurtado had a smile on his face after scoring a goal in the Portuguese League. However, his happiness was short-lived as he got injured and his team, Vitoria Guimaraes, only managed to draw against Vitoria Setubal in the 30th round of the competition. The Peruvian player lasted 58 minutes on the field at Dom Afonso Henriques Stadium.
As seen in the video footage attached to this article, Pablo Hurtado approached the edge of the field, crouched down, and asked for a substitution from the coach. It seems that he injured his right adductor. Brazilian player Welthon came in to replace him.
'Caballito' continues in top form
Just a few weeks before the 2018 World Cup, the players of the Peruvian National Team are still shining abroad and aiming to reach their peak performance for the biggest football event. One of them is Pablo Hurtado, who once again scored a goal for Vitoria Guimaraes in the Portuguese League. The Peruvian player started as a starter against Setubal and didn't take long to repay his coach's trust as he scored the opening goal of the match after only 9 minutes, taking advantage of a pass from Joao Aurelio. However, Setubal equalized at 30 minutes through Fernandes. As shown in the images, Pablo Hurtado capitalized on a long pass from the center of the pitch to control the ball and send it into the goal of Vitoria Setubal, the former team of Luis Advíncula. With this goal, 'Caballito' reached nine goals in the tournament.
