The fate of Serrano and Baca will be decided today in the Assembly
The National Assembly receives this Friday in the Plenary the president of the institution, José Serrano, and the attorney general Carlos Baca. The president of the Legislature must explain about the content of a telephone dialogue with the former comptroller Carlos Pólit, made public by Baca and where the two protagonists talk about him not fulfilling agreements.
The appearance of the two officials was defined last Wednesday in the Assembly, where a Christian social proposal was put forward in that sense, which received the unanimous support of 112 present legislators, including the vote of José Serrano.
After the appearance, according to assembly members of the PSC, CREO and other factions, a possible cessation of Serrano's position and a political trial against the prosecutor Baca could occur. That is why this date is key for the continuity or separation of their functions.
Legislator Vicente Taiano (PSC) anticipated that Serrano's arguments must be heard and then sanctions should be applied; but that until now, it is uncertain that the 112 votes that allowed the motion from his political group to pass will be repeated.
Serrano anticipated that he will explain details of the telephone dialogue before the Plenary.

Match between Technical University and Catholic University opens the fourth day of the National Soccer Championship
This Friday, at 8 pm, at the Bellavista stadium in Ambato, the fourth day of the National Soccer Championship, series A will begin.
The match that will open this day will be between the local Technical University and Catholic University of Quito.
The schedules for this day suffered a variation from what the Executive Committee of the FEF had set 16 days ago, as it resolved that, with no broadcast of the matches on any television network, clubs could choose the time, but not the day of their match.

Posorja water slide will be closed starting this Friday
For seven days, counting from today, the municipal water park of Posorja, a rural parish of Guayaquil, will be closed.
According to the Municipal Council, the closure is due to maintenance work that will be done on the slide floor for three days, but service will be resumed starting Friday, March 16, from 2pm to 8pm.
This water amusement center is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It was inaugurated on November 4, 2017 by Mayor Jaime Nebot.
The slide has four lanes with an approximate height of 5.90 meters, a visitable tunnel, a dome, a water screen, green areas. This project also has an ornamental fountain.
Naval Submarine Command celebrates its XLI anniversary
At 11am this Friday, at pier 5A of the South Naval Base, located on July 25 Avenue, at the height of the Maritime Port, a ceremony will be held for the anniversary of the Submarine Command, which is a division of the Ecuadorian Navy.
In this event, the command change of the Huancavilca and Shyri submarines will also take place.
Frigate captain Juan Líger Estévez will hand over command of the Huancavilca to frigate captain Jorge Echeverría Bucheli. Meanwhile, frigate captain Jorge Velasteguí will be relieved in the command of the Shyri submarine by frigate captain Carlos Guzmán Mata.
Asphalted roads are delivered and women are celebrated in Tungurahua
This Friday, at 12pm, in the 12 de Octubre hamlet of the Yanayacu parish, Quero canton, the ceremony for the delivery of the new asphalted roads by the Tungurahua Provincial Government will take place, as part of the project for the road improvement throughout the province.
