Draw between Lobos BUAP and Tigres in the Clausura 2018

Despite having a man advantage for most of the game, Lobos could not hunt down the champion Tigres, drawing 0-0 on Tuesday night in the celebration of the seventh round of Clausura 2018, which took place at the BUAP University Stadium with a good attendance.

Lobos practically dominated the match from the early minutes, where they made it clear that they were completely willing to disrespect the champion. John Gabriel Cortés was the one who troubled the opposing goal with a soft shot when 9 minutes had passed.

In response, Tigres tried to react with little success, as André Pierre Gignac and Jesús Dueñas were well stopped by the Puebla defense, which remained up to the task and for long stretches neutralized the felines who could not believe what was happening in Puebla territory.

After the 20 minute mark, UANL found themselves with numerical inferiority due to the expulsion of Rafael de Souza, who, with a harsh tackle on Jordan Sierra, saw the red card directly, thus complicating the outlook for his team, who despite everything, knew how to solve the situation thanks to the adjustments made by the coach, Ricardo Ferreti.

Although the northern squad sought to score through Alberto Acosta and Gignac himself, it all remained in good intentions, just like the Wolves, who despite having greater control of the ball, couldn't convert it into goals, missing several opportunities to breach the opposing goal.

In the second half, Tigres became much more incisive but lacking depth, which Lobos quickly balanced with a very similar proposal, showing a desire to change the course of the match. However, the facts dictated otherwise, repeatedly leaving the goal screams drowned in the stands.

As the clock ticked away, Lobos pushed the rival back into their own area, generating various arrivals through Irven Ávila and Cortés, who tested goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán, becoming a key figure as he stopped the shots and attempts that came his way.

After an incredible miss by Ávila, the recently substituted Jerónimo Amione appeared on the scene, who, at 68 minutes, took a shot that came close to changing the game, but all it generated was the opponent's response. It was a scissor kick by Eduardo Vargas and a wayward shot by Enner Valencia, which were required to be cleared.

In the end, the 0-0 prevailed despite both teams' attempts to take something more from the match. Lobos BUAP reached five points in the general classification, while Tigres went home with nine points, looking forward to their next weekend matches in the Liga MX.
