Javier Núñez has started this 2018 as one of the most important men in the attack of the cream team. Wearing the '10' jersey of the Ate entity and being the playmaker in the squad with Diego Manicero's injury, Núñez's responsibility in this beginning of the year has been one of the greatest he has had to face in his life.
The 21-year-old midfielder spoke at a press conference and acknowledged that, on some occasions, they do not implement on the field what Pedro Troglio asks for, especially in terms of pressure.
"The start has not been good as we wanted, especially for the home game we lost. But we keep working, I think we have to correct many mistakes and we will do that to face the game on Friday. The coach asks us to press but sometimes we go out and don't do what he tells us, we have to keep working. It's also a matter of attitude but we will still show what we know how to do," said Núñez.
Also, the merengue midfielder referred to the commitment they will have against the Universidad San Martín and stated that it is a tough opponent. Furthermore, he stated that, although there is more pressure when wearing the cream shirt than the saints' shirt, they should not care about the number of fans in the stands.
"San Martín will be a tough opponent, they're currently leading. We have seen some things about them but we have to keep improving our mistakes to get the three points. There is more pressure playing for 'U' than for San Martín because we are a big team and we have a lot of fans, but that shouldn't matter to us. We are on the field and we have to do what the coach tells us," Núñez concluded.
