Evo Morales congratulates Oriente Petrolero for their qualification in the Copa Libertadores

The President Evo Morales congratulated the Bolivian team, Oriente Petrolero, for their qualification to the second phase of the Copa Libertadores despite losing 3-1 against Universitario.

The President pointed out that the qualification of the Bolivian team is a "historic feat" for remaining with nine players on the field and managing to advance to the next phase in an "exciting and unforgettable" match.

"Congratulations to Oriente Petrolero and their coach Néstor Clausen, who in an exciting and unforgettable match against Universitario from Peru, managed to qualify for the next phase of the Libertadores, despite remaining with nine players and losing 3-1. Historic feat," Morales remarked on his official Twitter account.

A header goal from Paraguayan defender Jorge Paredes gave the qualification to the 'Refineros' at the Monumental Stadium, even though Universitario scored three goals.

Oriente Petrolero ended up playing with nine men on the field due to the expulsions of Paulo Rosales and Yasmani Duk.
