Olimpia has a lot to improve heading into the Copa.

In Garnero's debut as coach of Olimpia, the first and only friendly match before the Libertadores debut ended in a 3-2 victory against Boca Unidos.

It is clear that it is just the first friendly match, but considering that it will be the only one prior to the debut in the Copa Libertadores de América, on January 22 against Montevideo Wandereres, there are reasons to be concerned.

In front of about seven thousand people, who came to Para Uno eager to see good football and hopeful that their new team would give them hope to conquer "La Cuarta", Olimpia defeated the Argentine team Boca Unidos by 3-2.

The main responsible for this victory was Néstor Camacho, not only because he scored the first two goals (40' and 67') that equalized the score on both occasions, but also because he provided the assist that led Roque Santa Cruz to score the winning goal with a header.

Apart from these actions and Camacho's great performance, Olimpia didn't show much.

The new coach of Olimpia, the Argentine Daniel Garnero, started the match by putting the player who arrived from Guaraní in goal: Alfredo Aguilar, who played the first half and was later replaced by Daniel Azcona.

Patiño and Leguizamón appeared in defense (the latter in the second half), while players like Bogado, Rosales, Burgos, Torres, and "Chiquito" Giménez also had their chance.

The base seems to be defined, but we will have to wait for the medical report to confirm the injury of defender Carlos Rolón, who played as a fullback and left the field injured at the end of the first half.

The Olimpia squad will have this last week to continue working, to correct the flaws that the coach considers, already thinking about the Uruguayan team, the first opponent to overcome in the second phase of the Libertadores.

Olimpia: Alfredo Aguilar (46' Daniel Azcona); Carlos Rolón (46' Sergio Otalvaro), Juan Patiño, Darío Verón (68' José Leguizamón), and Farid Díaz; Walter Bogado (68' Santiago Rosales), Rodrigo Burgos, Richard Ortiz (50' Richard Sánchez), and William Mendieta (41' Iván Torres); Néstor Camacho (91' Oscar Giménez) and Brian Montenegro (63' Roque Santa Cruz).
