Guarani, betting strong on 2018 with new coach and important reinforcements
The presentation of the new coaching staff led by Argentine Sebastián Saja to the players was carried out yesterday in the Rakiura facility, ideal for comprehensive preparation. The event was led by the club's president, Juan Alberto Acosta.
The new signings were also present: Pablo Velázquez, Argentine Andrés Imperiale, and Peruvian Gino Guerrero.
Immediately, physical activities began, which will continue in the coming days. Next week, they will go to Encarnación for the main part of the preparation.
The squad is still incomplete as the search for a goalkeeper continues. The intention to have Ignacio Don, who faced complications in leaving Cerro, fell through. Now, the search focuses on an Argentine goalkeeper recommended by the coach (Saja), and it is said to be Agustín Silva, who will terminate his contract with Sol de América.
The captain Marcelo Palau was absent yesterday. Despite having a pending contract with the club, he will not continue and is working on his departure from the institution. The future of the Uruguayan midfielder is uncertain for now, as he cannot join another club without resolving his departure from Guarani.
Another player who will not continue is Guillermo Beltrán, who is also negotiating a mutual agreement to leave.
On the other hand, Argentine midfielder Ezequiel Videla arrives this week. According to Guarani's president, Acosta, everything is already arranged with the Dos Bocas institution.
It is expected that the squad additions will be completed before departing for Encarnación.
