Masakatsu Sawa, perhaps the last idol of Deportivo Municipal, will no longer continue with the team and will return to Japanese football next year.
Kashiwa Reysol will be the new team for the Japanese forward, whom he already defended between 2008 and 2013 and with whom he won a league title, a Cup, and another Supercup.
Deportivo Municipal communicated the news through its social networks and announced that it will hold a farewell ceremony for Masakatsu Sawa.
"Deportivo Municipal deeply regrets Masakatsu's departure and wishes him the greatest success in the new stage of his sports career, hoping that he can return to the institution in the future," reads the statement from the Franja.
"The Club will organize an event in January next year for the members and followers of Deportivo Municipal to bid farewell to our idol," the letter adds.
