José Sand is one of the stars of Lanús, the runner-up team of the last edition of the Copa Libertadores, which will face Sporting Cristal next year in the first phase of the Copa Sudamericana.

The 37-year-old Argentine forward talked to Depor about his expectations for Mario Salas' team.

"It is motivating to face a great Peruvian team with history. It will be a difficult match, fortunately there is still time to face them and analyze them," said 'Pepe', who was the top scorer of the 2017 Libertadores with nine goals.

However, Sand is well aware and does not underestimate or trust the Peruvian team: "As I said, being a great team, they have good players. I can't tell you more because I haven't seen them play yet," he concluded.

Lanús and Sporting Cristal will face each other in the first leg on Wednesday, February 21 at La Fortaleza; while the second leg will be played on March 1 at Estadio Nacional.
