Carlos Lobatón Renews his Contract with Sporting Cristal

Many thought that Carlos Lobatón would retire this year. However, Sporting Cristal still needs his experience to compete in the 2018 championship. That's why he renewed for another season. Furthermore, he feels capable of facing challenges, despite being 37 years old.

“What matters most to me is to keep playing and thank those who still believe in me because I have a lot of fuel left,” said Lobatón on his official website.

Let's remember that Lobatón joined Sporting Cristal in 2005. Since then, he has won 4 titles and is considered one of the idols by the 'celestes' fans.

“I don't consider myself an idol or anything, I'm Lobatón, a pawn and that's it," added 'Carlitos', who scored 2 goals this season.

Sporting Cristal will face 2018 without the presence of Pablo Zegarra, despite the plan being to bet on the young coach midway through the year.

“Next season, I want to achieve many things because it will be a very special year for me,” he concluded.
