Universitario de Deportes closes a bitter year
Universitario de Deportes closed a bitter year, after losing by the minimum against Cantolao in Callao. The team had an irregular campaign and with three more matches left in the championship, they stopped depending on themselves to force the playoffs. However, individually, some players did not do so bad. Such is the case of the national team players Alberto Rodríguez, Aldo Corzo, and Carlos Cáceda.
The goalkeeper of Universitario de Deportes left a message to the team's fans after the Descentralizado 2017. "Yesterday was our last match of the year, we did not achieve the goal but we fought with everything and against everything to try to achieve it. I appreciate the fans who are the most unconditional. I am sure that in 2018 we will win the 28th title. And "U" will always be heard", wrote Carlos Cáceda on his Instagram account accompanied by a photo with the first team of the university.
Requested in Mexico
After the Descentralizado 2017, from Mexico, the Twitter account 'Transfer Liga MX' posted that the "Panther" would be about to sign with Xolos de Tijuana. "Carlos Cáceda about to become a new player of Xolos de Tijuana. 26-year-old goalkeeper who plays for Universitario de Deportes in his country's league", reads the tweet.
However, neither Universitario de Deportes nor the player himself have confirmed or denied the information. It is worth mentioning that the team cannot sign any players next year, so if Carlos Cáceda's departure is confirmed, the goal of the team would fall on Raúl Fernández or Patrick Zubczuk.
