Pablo Bengoechea
Pablo Bengoechea has become a hero in La Victoria, but remains humble. Despite leading Alianza Lima to a championship after 11 seasons, the Uruguayan coach took it with great tranquility and assured that the main recognition should be for his players.
"We achieved the objective, we are very happy. I consider that the celebration belongs to the soccer players, that's my way of being. I feel very content, very happy. Luckily, with the effort of the guys, we were able to achieve it. The great merit is theirs," Bengoechea said.
Watch it over and over again: Leyes' double that gave the title to Alianza
"It was truly a beautiful season for all of us. We had a lot of confidence in the squad: great Apertura, great Clausura, and ended with a huge party. Let the Alianza fan enjoy it. It makes me happy to see so many happy people. I am grateful for the opportunity to work here with the players, who are the key to achieving important things," he added.
Lastly, the former coach of the Peruvian National Team highlighted the humility and serious work they had throughout the season.
"When we won, we didn't believe ourselves to be better than anyone else. After victory or defeat, you have to work, you have to prepare for the next match, and that's what we did," he concluded.
