Sporting Cristal drew 2-2 with Universitario de Deportes on Sunday, November 19 in one of the most attractive games of the Descentralizado. The match ended in an expulsion: Renzo Garcés. That is why the central defender criticized referee Diego Haro's decision in the program Fútbol Como Cancha on RPP Noticias.
"At the moment of cutting off, I tried to position myself in front of Alexi Gómez to prevent him from playing quickly and he pretended that I hit him. Diego Haro has experience in classics, international matches and should not feel the pressure, but this time he did and that's why he showed the red card. One was at 0-0 and the other when we were winning," he said.
Upset
The defender was expelled from the match when his team was winning 2-0. However, that was not the worst for him. Garcés revealed during his interview that not being able to play in the next match goes against him because he is not a regular starter.
"With the decision that Haro made in that play, he ruined all the work we have been doing. It affects me because I'm not an undisputed starter, but I earn a starting position in every training session. When it's my turn, I give my all to stay in the starting lineup," he expressed.
