Renato Tapia was amazed by the great reception of the Peruvian national team in the city of Auckland. He arrived after the national delegation. Even so, he was amazed by the tremendous welcome provided at the airport.

"Because it is another continent, I don't think many Peruvians are living here. I was a little surprised and it was really nice," said Renato Tapia in an interview with the "Stuff" media.
The member of the Peruvian national team knows a couple of New Zealand footballers. They are Marco Rojas and Ryan Thomas. Both play in the Eredivisie, the championship where the Peruvian plays. "I also know a couple of guys who play in England [Wood and Reid]," he said.

When asked about the problem that Paolo Guerrero is going through, Renato Tapia gave him his full support. He also doesn't want that issue to worry the Peruvian national team, so he has asked for concentration.
"We support him. He is our captain and will always be. We just need to stay calm and focus on both matches," he said.
