The Peruvian National Team completed their first training session in Auckland after a long journey of almost 20 hours to reach the city. The team led by Ricardo Gareca is following rigorous work to adapt as soon as possible to the time difference and arrive in optimal conditions for the clash on Friday in Lima, Saturday on the other side of the world.

The highlights of this first practice session for the Peruvian team in New Zealand were the happy faces, the classic jokes among the players, and the strong wind (not as strong as in Wellington) which will be a characteristic during the match.

Peru Holds First Football Practice in New Zealand

The practice session for the Peruvian National Team was not intense. On the contrary, the idea was for the team not to exhaust themselves physically after the long journey. The only ones who were moderately demanded were the goalkeepers Pedro Gallese, Carlos Cáceda, and José Carvallo, with long shots to get used to the strong wind that blows in New Zealand.

It was a little less than 45 minutes of light work at QBE Stadium in Auckland, followed by a long stretching session. This Wednesday afternoon (Tuesday night in Peruvian time), a football practice will be held with those who are present, awaiting the arrival of the 'European' players who are still missing and Miguel Trauco, who is already traveling to Oceania.
