Pedro Troglio clarified Diego Guastavino's situation
With much sadness, Diego Guastavino said that in 2018 he will no longer continue in Universitario de Deportes, but Pedro Troglio said it is not really like that and that he understands that 'Guasta' is uncomfortable for not playing as a starter.
"The one who doesn't play is not comfortable, in football it's like that. If you have a team that wins 10 games in a row at home, it's difficult to find a space, especially when you have had a complicated year with injuries," said the Argentine coach in a press conference.
"With Diego (Guastavino) we have an excellent relationship and I would advise him not to feel left out, there are still 5 or 6 more matches to see who will be the star of the tournament," added Troglio, who is setting up the team to play against Comerciantes Unidos on Sunday, November 5.
Guastavino's words are not definitive for Troglio because he knows that with his game he can reverse any conversation or agreement that has been reached so far. "In football, if we are going to look for records, we are all condemned. I believe that players should be calm, it is good that they analyze their futures, but the same people who told him that can negotiate again with Diego. The club needs to build something with those who are doing well in sports," he concluded.
Diego Guastavino is 33 years old and won the national championship with Universitario de Deportes in 2013. He returned in 2016 and only reached third place with the technical direction of Roberto Chale, José Luis Carranza, and Paolo Maldonado.
