Universitario de Deportes presented a formal claim to the Asociación Deportiva de Fútbol Profesional yesterday to keep the three points of the suspended match against Deportivo Municipal from last weekend.
Elmer Marín, president of the CJ-ADFP, spoke exclusively with the program 'Fútbol Como Cancha' of RPP Noticias where he stated that the decision on the claim of the club will be announced no later than next Friday, October 6.
"We will meet tonight and transfer this (the claim) to Municipal and they have 3 days to respond. After that, we will request information about the efforts made for the realization of the match. I believe that this should not go beyond next Friday," he said.
"In principle, we have to respect and guarantee the right to defense against a claim. We will exhaust all means to clarify the facts and we will verify it with what the bases say," he added.
The argument. Universitario believes that there was organizational or administrative negligence in the preparation of the match. They even offered the Monumental Stadium and the Miguel Grau Stadium but the city officials did not accept to play in those venues and in addition, the means of lack of guarantees were exhausted.
The head of the CJ-ADFP stated that they will resolve according to what the championship rules say. "What I can guarantee is that the CJ-ADFP will act within the corresponding procedure. We will carefully analyze all the facts that have arisen before the match date. And we will resolve according to what the tournament rules say," he concluded.
