Leao Butrón suffered a tear prior to the Peru vs Bolivia match of the last double round of Eliminatory, so he was called off. This afternoon Ricardo Gareca announced that the Inti goalkeeper is returning to the national team for the matches against Argentina and Colombia.

Despite being in the recovery process, Gareca chose to call up four goalkeepers and include the veteran Alianza Lima goalkeeper, who showed great level in the Torneo Apertura prior to his injury.
"I only complete two weeks since the tear I had this Sunday and it was planned to work normally next week, that's what I'm going to do. I hadn't communicated with anyone, so the call surprised me", said Butrón on "Radio Ovación".
On the other hand, Butrón shared his joy and excitement for wearing the national team jersey again, especially when we are so close to achieving the long-awaited qualification for the 2018 World Cup, but he asked to be cautious.
"I am happy with what I do, I feel good and I have been thinking about it. Being in a World Cup is what anyone would dream of, but as Edison Flores said, we have to take everything calmly, the possibilities are very close", Butrón concluded.
