Major League Football Season Preparation

With a view to the upcoming season of the Major League in Mexican student football, the University City Pumas are getting ready for the Second University International Bowl, a game that is also part of the celebrations for the team's 90th anniversary.

The feline team, led by head coach Otto Becerril Ulrike, will host the Europe Warriors on Saturday, August 12th. The Europe Warriors is a team made up of players from various European nationalities - including four Mexicans, two from the UNAM, one from the Universidad Anáhuac, and one from the University of Tamaulipas - and will be coached by Jesús Sánchez.

The game will take place on Saturday, August 12th at 12:00 hours in University City.

Both teams have prepared physically, mentally, and as a team for this match in order to be crowned champions at the University Olympic Stadium, according to the leader of the Pumas CU. "There is much better teamwork compared to last year; we have a clearer idea of what we want for this game and for the upcoming season," said Becerril, who is already preparing with the team for this bowl game.

"It has been a lot of work; we started talking about this back in January with the University, and we are very happy to have everything in place and make it a reality," said Jesús Sánchez, the leader of the international team. The coaching staff will arrive on Friday, August 4th, while the players will arrive one day later to start training on Sunday at University City.

"As a former coach of the university team, I am pleased to be part of this history and this institution," commented Raúl Rivera, president of the National Student American Football Organization (Onefa), regarding this match, which he promises will be enjoyable for the fans. "As a university member, former player, and former coach, I am delighted that the Pumas team faces a new challenge in this 90th anniversary and the start of a new season."

About the opponent, Rivera pointed out that, despite the popular belief that European teams are inferior to Mexican ones, they do have the level to play efficiently and can guarantee a good game against the Pumas CU.

"I had the opportunity to compete against European teams in World Cups, and the level that these teams handle is really important. Nowadays, the level of this team is unknown as it is a selection, but I hope they are a highly competitive team and can put on a good show on game day," added the Onefa leader, while Sánchez invited fans to attend the game, as there will be interaction with them after the match for photos, videos, and conversation. "We are not a team that will isolate ourselves from people. I understand that many people want the opportunity to be close to players from different nationalities; it is very important."
