Peru vs. Bolivia: The Field at the Nacional Stadium
According to Óscar Fernández, president of the IPD, the grass at the Nacional Stadium will be in good condition for the match between Peru and Bolivia on August 31. He believes this despite the fact that a massive concert with artists Carlos Vives and Marc Anthony will take place a few days earlier on August 12.
"The meeting with the Peruvian Football Federation was for coordination purposes for the match on the 31st. The Nacional Stadium field will be in optimal conditions as it has been in other opportunities," said the highest authority of the sports governing body.
That is why the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), through a statement shared on social media, has responded to Fernandez's statement, making it clear that such declaration causes them "strangeness."
"What became clear after the meeting on July 31st is that the field will not reach 100%, which is what is required for games of this nature," says the FPF. Then, they explain the points in which they make it clear that if the concert still takes place, the national team will have to change stadiums.
