Last Dates of the Tournament and Sporting Cristal Players
For the last two dates of the Torneo Apertura and the rest of the season (Torneo Clausura), Sporting Cristal will no longer count on Diego Ifrán nor Rolando Blackburn, who had arrived at the beginning of the season as reinforcements for the group stage of the Copa Libertadores. The club terminated the contract with the Uruguyan and the Panamanian.
With the departures of both forwards, let's take a look at their numbers wearing the Sporting Cristal jersey.
Diego Ifrán
The Uruguyan had arrived at Sporting Cristal the previous season. Although he only scored five goals, Ifrán was a key piece for the club to win the national title in 2016. This year, the situation changed. The forward played nine games and only scored four goals.
"We have reached an agreement with Sporting Cristal to terminate our contract. Thank you very much to the people for understanding the situation and also to the people who made me feel this way. I leave with the beautiful memory of having raised the club's 18th trophy," wrote Diego Ifrán on his Twitter account.
Rolando Blackburn
The Panamanian was the reinforcement for Sporting Cristal this season. And of course, much was expected from him, however, his stay in Rímac went unnoticed. Of the ten games he played, he only scored four goals. The last one in the last minute against Universitario de Deportes.
"I want to thank Sporting Cristal and the fans for their unconditional support during these five months that have not been easy. Maybe I couldn't have the necessary time to continue fighting for these colors, but in the short time I was here, I believe I gave everything for this entity," wrote Rolando Blackburn on his social media.
