The bad season of Sao Paulo forces the club to strengthen its team
The poor performance of Sao Paulo in the Brasileirao has forced the club to reinforce itself with some players who could turn around the team's current situation. One of the new faces is Hernanes. The Brazilian midfielder was presented as a new signing for 'Tricolor' and will be the new teammate of Christian Cueva.

During the press conference organized for his presentation, Hernanes had words to refer to Christian Cueva, with whom he will compete at Sao Paulo to be a starter. Both midfielders play in the same position and have similar characteristics. However, the Brazilian did not hesitate to highlight the virtues of the Peruvian.
"Maybe Christian Cueva and I will compete for the position, but that is healthy. I remember situations in other teams where players arrived in the same position, and people gritted their teeth and focused more to not lose their spot," said the Brazilian when asked about possible competition at Sao Paulo.
Despite affirming that all competition within a team is healthy, Hernanes anticipated that over the years he has played as an offensive midfielder, just like Christian Cueva does at Sao Paulo.
"I always had a perception, and those who are in football also have that perception, that to know a player, you need a touch of the ball. A touch of the ball can identify if a player has qualities or not, and Christian Cueva is a different player," expressed the new 'Tricolor' reinforcement.

There is no doubt that the season for Christian Cueva has had its ups and downs. The Peruvian received all kinds of praise in the first months; however, it is evident the drop in form he has suffered due to constant injuries. However, it all depends on him to return to his best level.
