Carlos Zambrano could join PAOK Salonika
Marco Zambrano, Carlos Zambrano's brother and representative, confirmed that the defender is in the orbit of Greek club PAOK Salonika, as well as other clubs that want to have his services for the next season.
"We are in communication with the Greek club as we are also in contact with other clubs that are interested in signing Carlos Zambrano," said Marco Zambrano to Ovación.
"The only thing that is real at the moment is that Carlos Zambrano is with Rubin Kazan in Russia and until the transfer window closes, anything can happen. At the moment, we cannot rule out anything," he added.
In the Russian League, Zambrano with Rubin Kazan finished ninth in the tournament and missed out on qualifying for an international tournament. Meanwhile, if he moves to PAOK, he would play in the Europa League.
As a reminder, Ricardo Gareca has excluded Carlos Zambrano from the national team, along with Claudio Pizarro and Jefferson Farfán. The last time he was called up was during the double date in March 2016, where Peru faced Venezuela and Uruguay. Precisely, against Venezuela was his last match.
Furthermore, Zambrano left Eintracht Frankfurt to join the Russian League and in the last season he had continuity playing 21 matches, without scoring any goals.
