Infamous Gaming from Peru qualifies for The International 2017
With a crushing 3-0 victory against SG e-Sports, the Brazilian finalist team, the Peruvian team Infamous Gaming has qualified for The International 2017. This is the first time that a spot has been opened for South America in the Dota 2 competition, and it's a proud moment to see Peruvians winning a place in the tournament.
Infamous Gaming will have to compete against the top 18 teams in the world, such as Fnatic, Team Secret, iG Vitality, Digital Chaos, LGD Gaming, Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, etc. who qualified in their respective regions or were directly invited to participate.
Everything seemed to indicate that Midas Club Elite from Brazil was going to become the representative of South America, but Infamous Gaming managed to take the lead in their two games against them. In the three final matches, the Peruvian team dominated their opponent at all times, countering their plays and taking advantage of each team fight.
Infamous Gaming is made up of Benjaz, Timado, Kingteka, Matthew, and Accel, who will travel to participate in The International 2017, to be held at the Keyarena in Seattle from August 7th to 12th. The prize pool so far is $19,883,313 to be distributed among all participants, and just by qualifying, the Peruvians have already secured $100,000. Congratulations, guys!
