San Lorenzo and Flamengo face a key match for both teams

San Lorenzo and Flamengo will face each other on Wednesday night (7:45 p.m. / Fox Sports) in a crucial match for both teams, aiming for qualification to the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores, in the last round of Group 4 of the tournament.

In an exciting finish, the four teams that make up the group of death reach the last matchday with possibilities of qualification.

Flamengo, the team of Peruvians Paolo Guerrero and Miguel Trauco, is the leader with 9 points, followed by San Lorenzo and the Brazilian Atlético Paranaense with 7 (the Argentine team has a better goal difference, with -1 against -2), while Universidad Católica from Chile closes with 5.

A draw will be enough for Flamengo to qualify, but they cannot rely on that because a defeat will force them to wait for the result of the match between Paranaense and Católica, while San Lorenzo will secure qualification with a victory, but they could also advance with a draw if the other match in the group ends tied.

The 'Ciclón' arrives revitalized to this make-or-break match, after almost being eliminated by just earning one point in three matches, but they recovered with consecutive victories over Universidad Católica (2-1) and Paranaense (3-0).

They come to the duel with Flamengo eager for revenge after the resounding 0-4 defeat suffered a couple of months ago at Maracanã.

The team coached by Uruguayan Diego Aguirre is also in the fight for the title in the local championship, located in second place three points behind leader Boca, after defeating their classic rival Huracán last Saturday (1-0).

The only expected change in the local team is the return of Néstor Ortigoza in midfield, recovered from a muscle injury, in place of Juan Mercier.

On the other hand, Flamengo has already arrived in Buenos Aires after the 1-1 draw in their debut in the 'Brasileirao' against Atlético Mineiro.

The carioca team traveled for this match with several absences, including Diego and Argentine defender Alejandro Donatti, both due to injury, while full-back Pará is suspended due to accumulation of yellow cards.

The match will be played at 7:30 p.m. (Peruvian time) at the Nuevo Gasómetro stadium and will be refereed by the Paraguayan Enrique Cáceres.

These are the probable lineups:

San Lorenzo: Nicolás Navarro – Paulo Díaz, Marcos Angeleri, Matías Caruzzo, Gabriel Rojas – Franco Mussis and Néstor Ortigoza – Ezequiel Cerutti, Fernando Belluschi, Rubén Botta – Nicolás Blandi: Coach: Diego Aguirre.

Flamengo: Muralha – Rodinei, Rafael Vaz, Rever, Miguel Trauco – Márcio Araújo, Rómulo, William Arao, Matheus Sávio – Paolo Guerrero and Everton. Coach: Zé Ricardo.
