Sporting Cristal could not find ways to disturb Nacional de Paraguay throughout the first half. The only risky play came with a good finish from Nilson Loyola. However, the referee noticed that the full-back was in an offside position and disallowed the goal.

Ávila replaced Sosa and seconds later scores 1-0
Sporting Cristal had not had a good first half against Nacional de Paraguay. For that reason, Tiago Nunes decided to make changes that worked perfectly since Irven Ávila and Martín Távara collaborated in the 1-0.
Távara came in for Pretell, while Ávila did the same replacing Sosa. It hadn't been a minute into the second half when the midfielder dared to make a long pass to the forward, who showed off his scoring ability.
Ávila received the ball and was one-on-one with goalkeeper Espínola. With the coolness that has always characterized him, the historical rimense calmly finished, putting the 1-0 that gives Cristal a whole half to come back.
