"My name always appears there as a future player for another club, but many times the press talks about situations that are not correct. Many rumors, but actually nothing certain, there is no concrete proposal from the teams that are often mentioned on social media and television", he stated in an interview with El Comercio.
In addition, the top scorer of the last South American Qualifiers stated that currently, he has one more year left on his contract with Cerro Porteño, something he plans to fulfill.
"I now have one more year on my contract with Cerro Porteño and, however, I heard that I was put in other teams, but the truth is, I have no idea what is happening, I have my contract and I will fulfill it", he pointed out.

Finally, the forward Marcelo Martins revealed that he was very close to signing for a club in Liga 1, but he emphasized that his arrival did not happen due to several factors. However, he decided not to say which club wanted to have him in their ranks.
"Yes, at some point I had several approaches from some clubs in Peru. It never materialized because we didn't reach an agreement. It never happened for several reasons such as the team not letting me leave due to contract clauses and several things, it never could happen.
