The national delegation started off on the right foot this Thursday in the XII South American Games 2022 being held in Asuncion, Paraguay. Peru won two more gold medals, bringing their total to fifteen gold medals in this competition.
Annia Becerra took first place in women's air pistol shooting at 10 meters, scoring 17 points. Ecuador's Andrea Pérez took second place with 15 points, while Brazil's Cibele Bautista completed the podium in third place.
Meanwhile, Daniella Borda also became champion in the same discipline. However, the national representative achieved this in the women's skeet event.
Both pieces of news were published through the social media channels of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD). In the comments, users congratulated the athletes for placing the country's name at the top of this international competition.
How is Peru doing in the medal table of the XII South American Games 2022?
It is important to mention that the Peruvian delegation is currently in seventh place with 56 medals (15 gold, 13 silver, and 28 bronze). Meanwhile, Brazil leads the table with 242 medals, followed by Colombia in second place with 195.
It should be noted that the XII South American Games will end on Saturday, October 15th, and therefore, the Peruvian delegation still has days to achieve more victories.
