Tigres of Mexico advances to the Concacaf Champions League final
With a double from Frenchman André-Pierre Gignac, Tigres of Mexico defeated Olimpia of Honduras 3-0. Olimpia, led by Pedro Troglio, will play their fourth Concacaf Champions League final with the aim of winning this competition for the first time.
Gignac scored two penalty goals in the 45+4th minute and in the 57th minute, and Honduran Elvin Casildo scored an own goal in the 78th minute at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The stadium is the venue for the final rounds of the Concacaf's premier club tournament.
The first penalty also led to the expulsion of Honduran midfielder Deybi Flores, which left Pedro Troglio's team playing the entire second half with one less player against a superior opponent.
Tigres will face US team Los Angeles FC in the final on Tuesday. Los Angeles FC defeated Club América of Mexico.
