José Luis Chilavert accuses corruption in Conmebol
José Luis Chilavert is once again in the news for his accusations of corruption in Conmebol, something that is no longer news. The legendary Paraguayan goalkeeper (55 years old) referred on this occasion to the more than questionable use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in Copa Libertadores matches, a weapon that is generating even more controversy instead of clarifying controversial actions.
Chilavert wrote the following message on his social media: "La Corrupbol continues to kill South American football with VAR", followed by his hope that this issue will change soon, making a call to the presidents of the different clubs that make up Conmebol: "They will fall and the presidents of the South American clubs must come together and demand an end to corruption in football."
La Corrupbol sigue matando el fútbol sudamericano con el VAR, ya van a caer y los Pdtes de los Clubes de Sudamerica deben unirse y pedir el fin de la corrupción en el fútbol.

The former Paraguayan national team player of the 80s and 90s, and one of the most iconic goalkeepers in the history of football, wrote the message during the controversial match between River Plate and Nacional from Uruguay, in which there were several highly debatable actions.
This is not the first or second time that Chilavert has harshly criticized Conmebol. In fact, its president, Alejandro Domínguez, sued him just a few months ago for "slander, insults, and defamation," to which Chilavert responded at the time as follows: "Finally, the doors of Corrupbol have opened for me, now the world of football will find out about the shady dealings of Domínguez and his cronies."
