About America's interest in Paraguayan players

In recent years, America has set its sights on signing many players from the Paraguayan market, most of whom have performed well, but it is surprising that the focus is almost always on the same country, as detailed in a publication on the super sports website: am.com.mx.

It states that players like Jonathan Samaniego, Tomás Rojas, and Christian Paredes were acquired from Sol de América, but only the latter added some minutes with the club's jersey as the other two were loaned out.

On the other hand, Bruno Valdez, Richard Sánchez, Cecilio Domínguez, and Sergio Díaz, the latter to arrive - coming from Cerro Porteño and whose transfer belongs to Real Madrid - had action with the first team.

In that regard, Miguel González Zelada, representative of Paraguayan players, spoke exclusively with Super Deportivo: "I sold Miguel Samudio to America. We made a direct club-to-club deal, and I maintain a good relationship."

"When I was talking to the people from America about Bruno Valdez, who was my represented player, they convinced the player to leave me and join the club. The truth is, it annoys me tremendously that there is this mafia action," he said.

González Zelada denounced that "in Paraguay, there are very good players, but if you don't pass through the hands of Nazareno Marcollese (an Argentine agent), it is difficult to reach the institution."

I believe that the club's president (America) may or may not know about this operation. When a trusted person appears, with whom you can only speak, it is striking because it is because certain contracts have to be negotiated and certain returns have to be made," he said.

Asked if he is aware that this person works directly for Las Águilas, he said: "I honestly don't know. But there is someone within America who is giving him confidence to make all the signings. One person cannot make all the signings, bypass the agents of the players. There are hidden large commissions. I think the owner of the group (Televisa) needs to analyze all of this."

When asked about Marcollese's role for America, he said: "I think he is the trusted person. There are two types of trust: being neat and transparent, but today in football, the trusted person has the filters, the commissions. I negotiate with many Mexican teams and none of them give an image like the one America is giving outward with Paraguayan transfers." (D)
