Nacional defeats Cerro Porteño in Friendly Match
In the Arsenio Erico Stadium, Nacional, led by Roberto Torres, won by the minimum margin (1-0) against Cerro Porteño, led by Francisco Arce, in the last friendly match for both teams before the resumption of the 2017 Apertura tournament, scheduled for Friday, July 17.
Defender Rodi Ferreira, with a header goal around the 20th minute of the first half, scored the only goal of the match in favor of the home team.
The Academy lined up with: Santiago Rojas; Rodi Ferreira, Hugo Espínola, Luis Cabral and Farid Díaz; Juan Franco, Edgardo Orzusa, Cristian Riveros and Julián Benítez; Danilo Santacruz and David Fleitas.
Meanwhile, the Cyclone took the field with the following eleven: Rodrigo Muñoz; Enzo Giménez, Rodrigo Delvalle, Alexis Duarte and Santiago Arzamendia; Federico Carrizo; Mathías Villasanti, Ángel Cardozo Lucena and Óscar Ruiz; Claudio Aquino and Diego Churín.
Nacional's first match in the tournament resumption will be on Sunday, July 19th, at 18:30 against River Plate in Los Jardines del Kelito, while Azulgrana will face league leaders Libertad on the same day at 16:00 in La Nueva Olla.
