Guaraní was one of the teams that completed the COVID-19 testing this Wednesday, a week after the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) concluded the coronavirus testing of the players from the 12 teams.

The indigenous team, with the highest number of foreigners, is still awaiting the return of several players who completed their quarantine in Argentina and Uruguay, where most of them are from.

But their coach, Gustavo Costas, remained in the country and during the social isolation, he sponsored a solidarity campaign with the club's board and staff to provide food and communal pots to the popular sectors of neighboring cities to the capital.

Olimpia, winner of the last four editions of the championship, also trains in the same way without the presence of their coach, the Argentine Daniel Garnero, who is in quarantine in a suitable hotel after returning from his country.

And something that continues to worry the 'King of Cups' is the situation of their star signing, Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor, who traveled to his country during quarantine and is now looking for a private flight to return.

Libertad, led by Argentine Ramón Díaz, is preparing without notable absences to consolidate their lead in the Apertura, with a four-point advantage over Olimpia after the completion of the eighth matchday and when the tournament was suspended on March 13.

Guaraní, Olimpia, and Libertad are also aiming for their participation in the Copa Libertadores, whose group stage was interrupted by the pandemic after the completion of the second matchday.

Thus, the Paraguayan Football Association announced this Wednesday the completion of the second round of COVID-19 testing for the twelve first division teams.

The last teams to undergo the tests were 12 de Octubre, San Lorenzo, Sportivo Luqueño, and Guaireña", stated the APF in a press release.

The APF added that each team is limited to 45 tests.

The APF's schedule contemplates that the Apertura will end on October 4 so that the Clausura can be immediately played in a shortened version to be finished in December.

As of now, there have been 13 deaths and 1,308 cases of coronavirus in Paraguay since the detection of the first case on March 7.
