Xoloitzcuintles strengthen central defense with Paraguayan defender Jorge Luis Aguilar
"Xoloitzcuintles will reinforce the central defense with the arrival of Paraguayan defender Jorge Luis Aguilar, who will join Club Tijuana from Club Querétaro," the institution said in a statement circulated to the media.
Aguilar, 27, who made his professional debut at Deportivo Santaní, has aerial game skills; in the past Mexican Clausura, he played eight out of the 10 matches for Gallos, seven as a starter.
Tijuana appeared in the sixteenth place when the last Clausura tournament was suspended due to COVID-19. With two wins, three draws, nine losses, and nine points, the team had little chance of reaching the playoffs.
Four days ago, the team based on the border with the United States released Argentine coach Gustavo Quinteros. The team is now led by physical trainer Sergio González, who focuses on recovering strength after three months without football due to COVID-19.
