Uncertain future for Paraguayan football
Since the football break as a sanitary measure against Covid-19, which was implemented on March 13, the analysis of day-to-day life reveals an uncertain future for Paraguayan football. This was stated by Miguel Figueredo, president of Sol de América club, in an interview with Fútbol a lo Grande 1080 AM.
"For me, the first matches should be played behind closed doors, at least in the beginning. But it is very difficult for football to return after April 12," he said.
Regarding the evolving trend of coronavirus in our country, he expressed: "People's unconsciousness is impressive. You can see that traffic is almost normal. People traveling to the interior, this will cost us dearly. We may even have a higher evolutionary peak instead of decreasing cases. It is unpredictable when we will see football again, and I regret that people are giving up. If we continue like this, it will be a serious problem that will last even longer."
"In 15 days, we have a virtual meeting scheduled with the Paraguayan Football Association (APF) and all the club representatives. But all the projections we can make will be useless if the health conditions are not favorable," concluded the dance club's president.
